Theory Lessons

The words “music theory” often strike fear in the hearts of many. It doesn’t need to. Yvonne can take some of that fear away with her theory lessons.

Yvonne’s theory lessons are based on the Royal Conservatory of Music, and focus on a basic understanding music theory.

So why is music theory so hard?

There are a few reasons it can be perceived as being difficult.

1. It uses a new language that we have to learn.
2. Theory uses language to try to explain something that we hear. Our brains take longer to process something we read, than something we hear.
3. Theory is complex, and is not something we can learn overnight. It takes time to learn; understand; and be able to apply.
